MCIC and 1JustCity Justice Film Night

We have a new series to get Winnipegger’s engaged in discussion and action towards a more Just City and World! When: 7:30 pm, Sunday, September 20
Where: Moksha Yoga Kildonan, 1615 Regent Ave W

Film: Life on Victor Street This short documentary depicts an Aboriginal Winnipeg teen’s struggle to stay in school and away from local gangs. Filmed over 2 years, the film is a moving portrait of one family trying to break the cycle of addiction, violence and poverty in an environment filled with anger and despair.

MCIC sought out 1JustCity as a partner to bring together Winnipeggers to discuss local and global social justice issues. Films will serve as a starting point for lively discussion around how we can make a difference in our own community and abroad. Like a chain of paper dolls, we are all connected; we live in one world and our individual actions affect the whole. Participants will leave with the motivation and inspiration to take action for a more just world.

Mark your Calendars!
