St. Matthew’s-Maryland Community Ministry in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking applicants for a one-year full-time position, serving the existing programs of the Community Ministry and facilitating important conversations about the future of the Ministry.

The Community Ministry is an ecumenical ministry supported by The United Church of Canada in Winnipeg Presbytery and a consortium of Anglican Parishes in the Winnipeg area. The ministry has a 43 year history of service, compassionate presence and justice making in the West Central Neighbourhood of Winnipeg. Current programs include: a 4 days per week community drop-in, with light lunch, pastoral care, nutrition bingo and personal advocacy available, and a twice weekly food supplement program in cooperation with Winnipeg Harvest. Summer programming with outings for families is offered from June to August.

Previous programs have included community garden projects, employment preparation programs, community volunteer training and support, An Artists’ Circle, And Aboriginal Friendship Circle and community dinners with evening programming during Advent and Lent.
