Free Community Tax Preparation Services Update

Community Financial Counselling Services is usually operating their free tax preparation service at the Norquay bldg. tax clinic at 401 York, and help out around 8000-10,000 folks get their taxes done. This year with COVID they are unable to operate there, and want to make sure that all communities know how to file this year, just differently than usual.



Community Financial Counselling Services (CFCS) is providing FREE income tax preparation to low/modest income clients through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

How to take part:

1. Call a virtual phone tax preparation line (204-989-1913 or 204-813-1569)

2. Drop off services:

a. Self-Serve drop off via downloaded forms submitted through the encrypted file transfer service on the CFCS tax website www.cfcstaxes.com/dropoff-taxes

b. Self-Serve drop off by dropping off the completed forms from the CFCS website in the contactless drop box outside 500-294 Portage Ave or by mailing via Canada Post to 516-294 Portage Ave (R3C 0B9)

c. Scheduling an In-person, drop off tax appointment at the CFCS temporary virtual tax centre (910-294 Portage Ave) by phoning 204-989-1901 or visiting their website at www.cfcstaxes.com/inperson-drop-off to book your appointment online
